Do you have a favorite derby memory?

I have TONS of them! My best friends and memories in life are because of derby. The away road trips when I first started in 2009 are the best! Derby has shown me places I would have never picked to go on my own: tournaments in Madison, WI and Charleston, WV... who knew? Great memories!

The sport seems highly physical. Have you ever been injured?

2 concussions, 2 finger breaks, a torn groin...

What position are you most comfortable playing?

BLOCKER... all day, every day.

A big misconception is that all derby players are "tough broads" and not at all feminine. What would you tell them?

We have feelings too! We may like to hit people, but that's a lot of women and a lot of emotions in one place... it's not easy! LOL

Playing any sport is a huge commitment. How do you juggle that along with your life outside of derby?

Work and derby... there's not a lot of time aside from that. The juggling is really hard at times. I'm in my 10th season and it's still hard to juggle... but you always find time for something you love so much.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I have a playlist that I listen to at least 2 songs before each bout! Ludacris "Move *****” and Bone Crusher "Never Scared." It definitely gets me pumped!

If you could go back and talk to yourself as a newbie skater, what advice would you give her?

Footwork; take the time to master and learn all the footwork and agility things before worrying about the rest.
